Tulips (Sculpture of Light) — black and white tulip photograph, copy 2/10
The black and white tulip photograph Tulips moves beyond classic floral arrangement and enters the realm of pure form. Three buds, captured in perfect balance and ascent, represent not only beauty but hidden strength, unity and elegance. This is print 2/10 from the limited edition — a handmade gelatin silver print from the darkroom.
About the photograph
The smooth, velvet surfaces of the buds are sculpted by light, making them appear like marble sculptures emerging from complete darkness. Through this minimalist composition, the emotion is quiet and sophisticated, relying on pure form and contrast.
The title Sculpture of Light is not accidental — light here is not illumination, but material. It carves shapes from darkness, the way a sculptor would liberate a figure from stone. The tulips cease to be flowers and become form.
The analog process
Shot on classic black-and-white film, where every transition of tone and shadow is meticulously captured. Using controlled studio lighting (Godox), the buds gain a three-dimensional, dramatic quality.
Each print is a unique work created in the darkroom. The gelatin silver print technique is essential — it allows the black background to be the deepest possible, while the whites and light gray transitions on the buds remain radiant and luminous, giving the image a tangible texture and tonal depth that digital printing cannot match.
Shipping and framing
The print arrives carefully packaged, mounted with mat, ready for framing. The frame is not included so you can choose one that best suits the space. Acid-free framing with UV-protective glass is recommended for maximum longevity.
A certificate of authenticity is provided with every print.
